Hi, I have a macbook mid 2011 and everything is working great. However the battery dies SUPER fast, it goes down 3% ever 2-3 minutes. My cycle count is only at 180 and my battery information says normal. So I thought everything is normal, but do you think a new battery would be beneficial to me? Would a new battery help this issue? It could be simply that the battery is old . It is a 6 year old battery . The batteries that were available at that time had about a 400 cycle count before degradation could occur unlike ones made in todays computers which have 1000 counts and higher . The chemistry is different in their making . This also has an effect on their longevity too . I have seen batteries with even lower cycle count to just be bad with milage like yours . Over years a battery will degrade if it is used of not . They are perishable items . You can get replacements either through apple or the aftermarket like http://www.welovemacs.com/maba.html

That model doesn't exist. Check your Apple Menu's, "About This Mac," to properly identify your Mac.
You can schedule a visit to the Apple store. They will check it for free. 2015...original battery? Could be time to change it.
I think the battery is due for a change.

Even though it has only 180 cycles on it, batteries get old over time. Yours is 6-7 years old, and I suspect it has just gotten "old" and needs replacing.
