Does Apple Watch series 3 turn by turn navigation on maps use iphone?

Basically I had an appointment with my adress in my phone in my calendar It appeared on my my watch, and as I pushed on my watch and pressed on directions, my watch just kept searching the adress to tell me that directions aren’t available. I had my iPhone 7 with me in my car. I don’t know if it changes anything but my iPhone was connected to my Bluetooth in my car?

Can anyone help?

    • Check that Location Services (the main setting at the top) is enabled.
    • In the list of apps beneath, check that Maps is set to "While Using".
    • Tap on System Services > enable system settings as desired.
  • On your iPhone, go to: Settings > General > Date & Time:
    • Check that Set Automatically is enabled.
  • On your iPhone, go to: Settings > Mobile / Cellar Data:
    • Check that Mobile / Cellular Data is enabled.
    • In the list of apps beneath, check that Maps is enabled.

Restart both your iPhone and your Apple Watch, turning both off together, then restarting your iPhone first:
