iPhone 6s not letting me call or receive calls from certain numbers

Basically what happens is if I try to call my wife her phone won't ring even though it is on my end. I can leave her a voicemail after the call rings for so long. If she calls me as soon as I answer the phone the call drops on her end and I get dead air on my end. However, if she calls me a bunch of times back to back eventually we get connected as normal. This seems to only happen on Verizon to Verizon numbers that I can frequently like wife, and my mother and father in law. Any other numbers seem to work fine. Even the lady at the Verizon store was able to call be perfectly fine.
