Speak selected text not functioning properly after High Sierra upgrade

So I use the "Speak selected text" function to listen to pdf text daily. Now the function starts at the beginning of the document only; the selected text option does not function. Could someone report this bug and get it fixed?

Unfortunately, just yesterday I updated my iPhone 8 to 11.1.1 and now I can't dictate text and siri is missing.

So basically, all of my accessibility functions on my apple products are malfunctioning with the most recent updates. Come on!

What I have observed with the default key combination in Accessibility : Speech on High Sierra 10.13.1, is that the default option+Esc key combination is inoperable — until you click the Change Key... button, do not change the key sequence, and then click the OK button. Quit System Preferences. The assumption that the “Speak selected text when the key is pressed,” is checked.

Now, when you press option key + Esc, the selected text, and only the selected text is spoken, wherever that selection resides in the viewed PDF document.

I don't have iOS 11, so cannot comment on your issues there, but you can post about dictation and Siri in the Using iPhone Support Community.
