Kernal_task

While on the phone with Mac Support for a malware issue he said my Kernal_task activity was high, but doing the update to High Sierra 10.13.1 would take care of that. Well I did the update and it still shows that it is using 1.13gb of memory. Is this something I need to address or fix and if so, how or what do I do to go about that? Thank you.

macOS Sierra (10.12)
