Macbook Camera Keeps Freezing

Every since I updated to High Sierra, my Facetime HD Camera has been freezing. I have a late 2011 Macbook Pro and I haven't had any issue with it until this update.

Every time I open Facetime, Photobooth and Skype, it doesn't give me the error that "my camera isn't connected" it just freezes up. The camera's ability to work ranges, at times it will take a couple of minutes of working to freeze, other times the moment I open the application it freezes but the light remains on. However, there are times I open Facetime and it just give me a black screen but the green light is on. The green light indicates that its one and the system reports gives me the ID of the camera and other information about it, on the USB systems report it also indicates that the camera is there.

I have tried the PRAM and NVRAM reset. I have Clean uninstalled and reinstalled skype. I have used the terminal sudo killall VDCAssistant command and I am still having this issue.

Send help please 😟

I have the exact same problem. MBP Late 2011; was working fine until High Sierra. It happens will all sorts of video-conference tools: Skype, Facetime, WebEx, Jabber, etc.

It is very annoying when you do lots of vide-conferencing for work.
