Pull photos from iPhone backup?

I (regrettably) went drom iPhone to android in May. I had backed up my iPhone to icloud before sending it in.. I lost all my photos from my Verizon cloud today. Is there a way to get the photos from my old iPhone backup onto a Samsung galaxy s8 or Mac laptop?
