i found an ibook G4 onnthe side of the road and inwanted to know if i could use it

Depends on if it is damaged or not and if it has an OS installed on it. You will also need an adapter and maybe a battery. battery life for mine is about 5 hours. you can find an adapter on eBay for about 10$
