Trackpad? makes loud click noise by itself

Hi community

• Every now and again my Macbook Pro 2016 makes a loud clicking noise. I assume its coming from the trackpad but I feel that it is louder than a normal click.
• I do not see the mouse move and it does not appear that a real mouse-click happens as I've never noticed any weird application behaviour or cursor movement.
• I cannot replicate the issue but it happens every couple of days and normally when the Macbook Pro is first used.

Any ideas???
