Photos from iPhone onto iMac.

I've linked my iPhone to my iMac, with a USB cable, but Image Capture only shows six of the photos (which are not the ones I want anyway) from the iPhone so I know the Image Capture recognises the iPhone.

I've read on the internet that Image Capture is the way it can be done and I don't want to use iTunes because it's far too complicated.

Would someone please help.
