Question: Can I buy a Verizon iPhone X and put a T-Mobile sim in it

I want to go with the T Mobile network, but I am not certain of the quality of coverage. As of today Apple is not selling Sim free iphone X so I. Need to go with a carrier phone. I dont want to tie myself to a tmobile phone, hence my wuestion........Can i purchase a Verizon iphone X and just replace the verizon sim with a tmobile one?

Is it that simple?

As far as I know, you have to have a Verizon account to buy from the Apple Store at present.


Best Buy was accepting orders without requiring an account but that may have changed and, in any event, the above policy would apply to such phones.


You can buy from third parties but obviously at your own risk.

Verizon postpaid LTE devices are unlocked.


Depending on where you buy it from it may be subject to the US Resellers Flex Policy. So unless you are planning to do the initial activation with a postpaid Verizon sim, there are risks involved.
