gestures not working well

Since installing ios 11 I’ve noticed that gesture functions don’t work nearly as smoothly as in ios 10, for example swiping up with 4 fingers to get the app switcher. Most of the time it simply doesn’t work and I have to click the home button twice. Not the end of the world but I was getting used to swiping. Also rearranging icons on the homescreen or moving them around from folder to folder is now a pain.... Anyone else experiencing such things?
