Apple CD SC standalone?

Hallo,
this is certainly an unusual question but I still have an Apple CD SC external CD-rom-drive that works pretty good in playing data-CD-roms as well as audio-CD's.
Because I do no more need this unit for my computers I want to use it within my hifi-stereo-system but without the connection to an Macintosh-system.
Have you any idea or solution in playing audio-CD's without a SCSI-connection to my Mac?
Like an "autorun" of the implemented Sony-CDU8001-drive by inserting a CD-rom?
Thank you very much before

Sorry, but it's extremely unlikely that it will be possible. Though the external Apple CD drive has, if my memory is correct, audio outputs, there are no transport controls on the drive, so there's no way to start (no "autorun" that I'm aware of) or control the playback unless the drive is connected to a computer.

Standard CD players are really inexpensive these days, so I'd suggest just getting a normal player for your audio system and dumping the Apple CD-ROM if you no longer need it for a computer.
