Screen corruption when using airplay mirroring to AppleTV 4

When activating AirPlay between my MBP (15 inch 2017, High Sierra 10.13.1) and our various AppleTV's (Gen. 3 and 4) we get constant screen corruption under the mouse cursor, both on the MBP and on the mirrored display (various kinds of TV's.

See attached picture for an example of the corruption.

When searching for this issue, it seems virtually no-one knows of it, yet all MPB's in our office display the same behaviour?

Does anyone have any ideas what causes this and how it can be fixed?

MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2017), macOS High Sierra (10.13.1)

I found that switching Optimize for: to "Built in Retina Display" solved the pixel corruption issue. Only problem is the screen you are using Airplay on to may not support the resolution very well and you might not be able to use the whole screen.
