Iphone mail "This message has no content"

Ios 11.0.3

After setting up an IMAP account the mail gets downloaded but the messages are empty with "This message has no content in them". Also I try to delete a message and it will move to trash briefly but returns to the inbox after I check for mail again. I have tried the following

Restarting the Iphone
Deleting the IMAP account and adding it again.

How can I fix this?

iPhone 6, iOS 11.0.3
