Can you turn off the Music App from appearing on the lock screen?

Is there a way to get the music app to not hijack the lock screen? In 11.1.1 the music app turns on when you use it in a car or with bluetooth. But the unintended consequence is that the music player takes over half the lock screen with a player app, covering up actual notifications. If the music app has NO NOTIFICATIONS turned on, then why would it force itself onto the lock screen and cover up actual notifications.

The result is that the user has to unlock the phone, find the music app, figure out where they hid the off button, and exit out. (Sometimes the music app doesn't even appear when you double click the start button and look for running apps.)

So now we're forced to take a half dozen steps each and every time you exit a car, to turn off the app so that you can see your notifications.

This from the bunch that can't program the word, "I".
