A question about Touch ID

So my iPad has been bad with Touch ID since I got it. It was normal for the first w months, then Touch ID stopped working. I had to put my fingerprint in again. Now, I can’t even register my Touch ID. I made sure my thumb and the home button are completely dry, but it won’t register. It keeps saying that it failed like right after I put my finger o. The home button. The iPad has never taken any damage, and I got it from the Apple store. Does anyone know why this happens or how to fix it?

Do you have warranty left on it?

It could be that you have a defective Touch ID sensor/Home button.

Take it in to you local Apple Store's Genius bar to have it evaluated for free. If you're under warranty and the device is deemed by Apple as defective, it will be repaired or replaced. If no warranty, you'll be given other options/prices for repair.

Make a Genius Bar reservation here (You'll need your Apple ID to make the reservation):

Word of warning...you should make a reservation. If you don't have one, you may be turned away or have to wait hours for them to get to you.

It's a free repair/replacement if Apple deems it's defective. They need to evaluate it fully to give you a valid answer. My say has no bearing in the matter.

Good luck to you.🙂
