Force touch in Messages no longer brings up info

Since the upgrade to High Sierra, when I try to use Force Touch on the buddy icon, I no longer get the window that pops up with info about that buddy.

Anyone else have this or know of a solution?

Thanks,

Boris

Hi,

I think many things about recent versions of the OS are less elegant than this used to be.

AS you point out the solution may be less elegant that what went on before.

This would be on the MacBook Pro Retina 2016. It has the force touch track pad and prior to the High Sierra update, one feature of the force touch track pad was the ability to force touch on the buddy icon to get a "get info" type of pop up. One can now get the same information by clicking on the "details" link at the top right of the messages window. Same info, but not quite as elegant.
