iTunes missing summary for iPhone 5s

I'm running:

iTunes 12.7.1.14

MacOS High Sierra 10.13.1

on a Mid-2011 27" iMac

When I open iTunes and connect my iPhone 5s, I see the icon for my iPhone in the sidebar. But, when I click the iPhone icon, there is no 'Summary' option listed. This means I can't control what's being synced to/from my iPhone anymore. This is what I see:

I've tried following instructions for similar issues. But, nothing works. The only thing I haven't tried is uninstalling 3rd party security software...because I'm not running any.
