The Economist app

This concerns The Economist app which is used to download issues from a paid subscription. Normally, each edition is downloaded and accessed by tapping on the cover. This opens to the table of contents and tapping on a section in the ToC opens it up to access individual articles. Ever since an iOS upgrade, tapping on an individual section in the contents has no effect; in other words, I cannot access individual articles.


I am using a iPad Mini running iOS 11.1.1 and The Economist app version 4.0.14.

I seem to have solved the problem. I had previously uninstalled and reinstalled the app, to no avail. I did it again, this time, with the fresh install, I signed out of my account and signed back in. This worked. Now the app is fully functional.
