Question: Is there a SAFE free app to download YouTube videos to my HD?

Can someone please recommend a free app that's above all else safe -- and able to download YouTube videos to the hard drive of my Macbook. I'm hoping for a few options, so if there's already a reply, I'd still appreciate your input, too. Thank you.

It is a violation of the terms of use to download most videos on YouTube. If there is a download link, you should be able to download the video from that link.

Since downloading youtube videos violates Youtube's terms of service, and in most cases can be viewed as copyright infringement upon the owner of the media being downloaded and as such be illegal we cannot really offer any suggestions.
