IOS 11.11.1 Airdrop Not Finding

Upon updating to IOS 11.11.1 on an iPhone 7, Airdrop did not identify anyone and the phone could not be seen from a MacBook.

The solution I found was to turn off bluetooth on both the iPhone and the mac and then turn bluetooth back on on both devices.
