Why doesnt FaceTime Live Photo work as my lock screen wallpaper?

I am using an iPhone 8 Plus on iOS 11.1.1. While on FaceTime I take a Live Photo of the FaceTime call. I then set the Live Photo to be my lock screen wallpaper. But then the Live Photo feature doesn’t work as my lock screen wallpaper when I press and hold down on it. However, if I use a different Live Photo that has been actually taken with my camera lens, the Live Photo feature does work on my lock screen. Does someone know if there is a fix to this?
