App icons in dock disappear

Hey guys,

from time to time I experience that my App icons in the dock disappear. It doesn't help to close the apps (so the whole app is no longer in the dock). The icon then also aren't in the notification centre as well. It happens to Apple as well as non-Apple apps.

Sometimes they just re-appear, but I don't know how I could influence that (except rebooting). This is kind of annoying.

Thanks for your help!

Usually the problem is in the launchserivces data base. You ran the command correctly. If it's not that, it could be a Dock issue.

From your Finder "Go" menu > "Go to folder" and copy & paste this command:

~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.dock.plist

Press Return

Delete the plist file, then restart or log out and back in.

(This will set your Dock to default and you'll need to set it up again the way you like it.)
