Autocorrect not working in Microsoft Office

I'm working on some essays in Microsoft Word and I have Autocorrect turned on. The issue is that it doesn't correct anything while I'm using any of the Office apps, errors just have a red squiggly line underneath them. Autocorrect works in every Apple app, like Pages, Safari etc.

Does anyone know of a way to fix this?

In the mean time, to try to help:

Was this always an issue or just started to happen?
Which exact version of Microsoft Office are you using on your MacBook Pro?
Finally, is the notebook running OS X El Capitan as you posted in this area of the ASC?
