after high sierra update, desktop not displaying my files that i save on desktop

Hi,

I am using a macbook pro 15-inch early 2011. I upgraded to High Sierra and now I can not see the files on my desktop when I save or download them on my desktop.

I can see them when open desktop file, but still can't see on desktop itself.

Also when I search the screenshots in spotlight, it says it's on desktop, but neither the desktop itself not the desktop folder shows them. But I can open them when I click on it from the searchlight results.

I couldn't find any setting or preference adjustments in the system preferences.

I'd really appriciate if you could help me to solve this problem.
