Calendar invites not appearing on IOS

iPad and iPhone operating system mail does not show some email calendar invites from some systems (mainly Outlook). The calendar invites appear on the MacBook. Any suggestions? It is possible the issue is with the senders system. If so, what would I need to tell them in order for the calendar invites to show on IOS?
