The new High Sierra has made my laptop virtually useless. Is there a fix?

All of my browsers seem to be affected. Safari is 100% useless now. Chrome and Firefox are slightly better.

I have a 2012 MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2012)

Processor: 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5

Mac Pro

What does this mean "The new High Sierra has made my laptop virtually useless."?

What does "useless" mean? What happens? What errors are there?

Please be more specific. You could post an etrecheck report so that we may try to analyze your system to determine what may be causing issues. Do the same issues occur when you boot into safe mode?

It breaks my heart but I've had the same issue: I've had to buy a new machine (microsoft) as it has brought the machine that ran parallels to a standstill. It all worked before the upgrade.... Now it doesn't. By this I mean that it takes 20-40minutes to go into it. worked before.Doesn't work now. Networks keep freezing... never used to. It's converted my office from a networked office to one where we have to email shared sheets to each other as they freeze. Force quit does not remove them for us to restart.

I've tried new versions of parallels. I've tired different spreadsheets. No improvement.

Bad day.

Not sure if this will help you, but I somewhat accidentally fixed my issue! I was reading up on getting rid of these "pop-up" ads which I was getting, primarily from MacKeeper. I saw a number of people talking about how getting rid of certain files(malware) would fix the problem. Long story short, I ended up going to the APP Store and downloaded an APP called "Adware Doctor." Not only did it get rid of the pop-up ads, but it resolved the issue with my not being able to use any of my browsers(Firefox, Safari, Google-Chrome), all three of which were totally updated. My laptop is now running perfectly with the new OS.
