Should I disable file sharing on my iMac for better security?

I read in EtreCheck's tips section today that it is wise to disable file sharing in System Preferences on a Mac because it interferes with the Firewall somehow. Would this apply to an iMac that is used only in your home or does that matter? I am confused by this. Please advise.

iMac, macOS High Sierra (10.13.1)

AirPort Express includes a built‑in firewall that creates a barrier between your network and the Internet, protecting your data from malicious attacks. When you set up AirPort Express, the firewall is automatically turned on, so you don’t have to do a thing. Except enjoy the web with peace of mind.
