Quality of Family Shared Album on Family Sharing

With iOS family sharing, when members of the family share photos onto the shared "Family" album, is the quality of the photo going to change? I ask this because i want to make sure i have the original quality photo if my wife puts a photo on that shared album and I want to make a print of it.

Thanks,

Shared albums are not full quality.

They are capped at 2048 pixels on the long edge.

Sorry, I have no experience with live photos.

The quality of a 2048 pixel file will easily make a 5x7 print, likely even an 8x10.

Apple, or any lab, will use the file you send them. If you use the shared file as your sources, it is sized. If you send from your iCloud Photo Library, it will be higher resolution file, dependent on the camera that made it.

The files in your iCloud are protected by your Apple ID and password. No lab could access them on your behalf.
