I am trying to clear my photos on my phone before I go on vacation but I still want to keep them on my Mac.
I have my "photo sharing" on so that was the only way I was "importing" them. Is there another way to do it? I am still having the problem of photos getting deleted from both when I delete from either device.
You can export them from the photo library anywhere you are not syncing with iCloud.
If you have iCloud Drive on, don't place them there. If you are syncing your Desktop and Documents folder, don't place them there.
The Pictures folder is safe.
You will need to move them from the Photos app on your Mac, assuming they are being synced to the iCloud Photo Library.
If you have imported them to your computer, as you should be doing regularly, then simply delete them from the iPhone.
