Can I use a 18W adapter to charge up my iPhone 8 with lightning cable? As the new iPhone is currently be able to support 29W fast charging as claimed by Apple (need USB-C to lightning cable). Thank you for the information in advance.

Hi Celxiuz. It will likely not charge any faster if you use a regular USB to Lightning cable. The charging current is actually regulated by the charging circuit in the iPhone. The power supply is just a power source. The USB-C cable probably includes circuitry indicating that fast charging is available.
