Connector
Hi
I have a mini, 5gen and a ipad 2017, I would like to use a iPad pro as my computer but I need to charge, plug a midi keyboard and duplicate the screen to a HDMI monitor.
Does a adaptor do all this? witch one?

OK. AirPlay will work for the video. You need the Apple USB 3 Camera Adapter. It supports USB MIDI, as described at this link: Use Apple USB camera adapters with other USB devices - Apple Support. You can order it from Apple, or get it almost anywhere, e.g. WalMart. Be sure to get the current model, which includes a Lightning socket beside the USB connector. That lets you charge/power while playing. I've tried this with the USB connection from my keyboard and it works fine.

Hi Toiny. The suggested adaptor will handle the HDMI screen, and charging, although an iPad Pro will probably not actually charge in this configuration. But I'm not sure about the MIDI keyboard. How does your keyboard connect? Is it Lightning, USB, or traditional MIDI?
This is actually quite a lot of I/O for an iPad to take on. You might want to consider a Mac computer for this application.
I've done a little testing, using the following components:
– iPad Air running iOS 11.1.1
– iRig Keys MIDI keyboard, which connects via Lightning or USB
– Apple Digital A/V Adaptor
– Apple USB 3 Camera Adaptor
– Samsung HD TV
Both the Apple adaptors have a Lightning connector, meant to allow charging while using the adaptor.
I tried using the Lightning connectors to daisy-chain the adaptors. And I found that the second connected adaptor never works. The same applies for the iRig keyboard connected to the A/V Adaptor Lightning port. This means that there is no way, within the Apple family, to meet your requirements of an iPad Pro connected to TV, MIDI keyboard, and power. And, as I said, it would be quite a lot of data to push through the iPad Lightning connector.
this let you connect to hdmi https://www.apple.com/shop/product/MD826AM/A/lightning-digital-av-adapter?fnode= 91
