Serial interface not recognised (MBP 13", no tb, late 2016)

Hi!

I'm trying to to connect my MPB 13" late 2016 (no touch bar) to an Atmel ICE in order to program an AVR microcontroller using JTAG.

Using the Apple USB-C to USB adapter, no UART serial connections are displayed.

When the ICE is connected, the middle LED lights up, so it is powered up.

The computer doesn't recognize the ICE. Running ls /dev/tty.*only shows/dev/tty.Bluetooth-Incoming-Port , but not ttys0.

Both the TB3 port, adapter, cable, and ICE work on their own (and the ICE is recognised when other computers are used).

Does anyone have an idea of why the computer can't connect to the serial interface? Could it have something to do with the port being TB3, and not USB-C?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

MacBook Pro (13-inch, Late 2016, 2 TBT3), macOS Sierra (10.12.6), null
