How do I recover messges that have disappeared on their own?

I have an iPhone 6 and I sent message earlier to another iPhone and my message started showing up out of order and now I went back to the conversation and half of my messages from then have disappeared. I currently am using iOS 11.1 and this is not okay. Please if there’s any way help me. I would hate to have to request the conversation resent to me, and I need it for work. Thank you. From the picture i circled 1 and 4 bc those messages completely disappeared. One sent from myself the other sent from my partner.

The only way to recover missing messages would be to Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch from a backup - Apple Support

clarissaj,

anonyme4321 is correct, the only way to recover deleted message is to restore from a backup.

However, you should also check Settings > Messages > MESSAGE HISTORY - Keep Messages. Adjust the time if necessary.

Also you should check your local storage on your phone. Are you out of storage? Go to Settings > General > iPhone Storage. You should have at least 10% free.

Good luck.
