iMessage not working on MBP since update to High Sierra

I've logged off and signed back in again but can't send any messages.


I can receive them but the number is displayed not the name (so it isn't connecting with Contacts).


Any idea what's gone wrong?

MacBook Pro with Retina display, macOS High Sierra (10.13.1), Sep 2014; Latest software installed
