I have my brother's phone who has just passed away I would like to reset them how to do?
I don't know his apple id or password. please advise

If you have proof of ownership (e.g. phone's original receipt, a copy of his death certificate and his will leaving it to you) you could try contacting Apple and see if you can/will remove his account from the phone : https://www.apple.com/emea/support/itunes/contact.html.
