why does my system take up so much diskspace

I suddenly got a message saying my diskspace is full so i clicked the manage button. I have go over 247 gb in the systems tab which for some reason is inaccessible. How do i make it so that most of said diskpace can get freed. I already tried other threads like System Storage Taking Up Way Too Much Space in macOS Sierra and "System" Taking Alot of Space | MacRumors Forums and the solutions written there have not yielded any results as of yet. Can someone please help me to get this fixed (please simplefy it as best you can as i am quite new to using a mac). Also if you have the same problem please dont say that you have the same problem down below, its annoying and when i receive a message that i got a response on here then i'll know that it will be someone trying to help instead of some rando saying the word "same".

MacBook Pro, macOS Sierra (10.12.3)
