Ipad Pro 10.5 running IOS 11xx. I do NOT use iCloud. Files seems useless to me. Nothing under favorites. Nothing under locations allowing access to files ON the iPad -which has 512gb of storage so I do not have to use iCloud. Using PDF Expert/Files Pro because they are functional.
Is Files really this bad?

Hi guardrail22. Basically, yes. The Files app can access iCloud Drive, other cloud servers, and the local storage of enabled apps, like Pages. If all your apps were enabled, Files could work like a computer home directory. Otherwise, other file manager apps are much more useful.
You wait for the implementor to do that, and you download the updates. I believe it requires new interfaces in the app software. There is nothing you can do but nag the provider, Microsoft in your case.

meaning if you don't use iCloud it really is useless?

Word
Excel
PowerPoint
etc.
