Apple Watch 3 Won't Unlock Mac with HSiera 10.12.6

Turning on Unlock Mac with Apple Watch 3 yields "Update your Macs software to allow your Apple Watch to unlock your Mac" I'm using version 10.12.6 and App Store shows "no updates available" Sheesh!
