itunes sync grey

Over the past few weeks i've not been able to sync my iphone 6 to my PC.

The sync button is greyed out and the storage bar at the bottom is just yellow with "other"

I've tried every fix i could find. I know it's this pc as 2 iphones won't sync on this pc but sync fine on another laptop.

Rebooting both pc and phone.

Updating drivers

updating itunes and phone

Uninstalling anti virus and allowing in firewall/turning firewall off

clearing lockdown folder so it can trust the pc again

authorising the pc.

The only thing i've not done is reset my phone for fear i won't be able to sync and i have no backup......

Any ideas guys?

Okay i have finally fixed the issue. Uninstalling apple stuff in the correct order fixed it for me. If anyone else has this issue follow this website EXACTLY as it tells you. How to Fix the “An iPhone Has Been Detected But It Could Not Be Identified” Error in iTunes

Can you say specifically what version of iOS your device is using? Did the problem happen after updating to iOS 11? And what version of iTunes and Windows you are using? (Don't just say the latest versions, that doesn't help much.) Are you trying to sync over WI-FI or USB? If WI-FI, try USB:

Sync your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iTunes on your computer using USB - Apple Support

or if USB (perhaps the cable is bad), try WI-FI:

Sync your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iTunes using Wi-Fi - Apple Support

Some other support articles that might help (even if you don't see the specific error codes):

If you see error -5000, -69, 13010, or 13014 when you sync music in iTunes - Apple Support

If you see error -54 when you sync with iTunes - Apple Support
