Running Diagnostics from Terminal?

I have a Mac book Pro Mid-2012, I keep trying to run diagnostics by restarting and holding "d" key. But during hardware test it freezes, also try to verify and repair disk in disk utility but no luck, and wanted to know if there was a way to run a hardware test in terminal?
