Question: Safari won't open-Sierra 10.12.6

Everything worked great on my MacBook Pro (13" early 2011) this am.

But now unable to open Safari:

Clicked on the Safari Dock icon - nothing happens

Right clicked on Safari Dock icon - nil

Clicked on the Safari icon in the Applications folder - nothing happens

Opened ~Library/Preferences

Deleted Apple.com/Safari.plist

Performed Safe Boot after Shutdown & then rebooted - still unable to open Safari

Appreciate any help!

Thanks!

...John

Go step by step and test.

1. Restart the Mac couple of times.

2. Reset PRAM. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204063

3. Deselect Proxies,if selected.

System Preference > Network > Advanced > Proxies Tab

Unlock the lock if you have to.

Under "Select Protocol", uncheck any box if check marked.

Click "OK" then "Apply”.

4.Backup and Reinstall macOS

Worked with Apple Support for more than an hour...PRAM/SMC/Preferences/Proxies/Plug-ins/Safe Boot/Shutdown & Reboot/ etc etc.

Finally had to resort to a full reinstall of Sierra...

Safari now back working!

Thanx for taking the time to reply!
