I'm getting ready to download some royalty free clips from a service I subscribe to and the download options have me wondering which file extension works best with FCPx.
I have original video shot with my own camcorder, and I will be adding this downloaded footage as B-Roll, as an example.
Which is better - .mov or .mp4?

Without any more information probably .mov, but without complete file details that could be completely wrong.

I just looked at the files on the site and it says ".mov (prores)" which I'm assuming it what I should be considering?
I thought I'd ask before downloading because the file size is so much larger than the .mp4 (h264) counterpart.
.mov is 372mb
.mp4 is 8.7mb
Is that sufficient info?
The ProRes file should be much higher quality and is a far better production format.
Is HDMP4 or HDMOV best to import to FCPx
