Lockscreen will not sleep

Since I updated my iphone7 with the latest iOS, the lock screen no longer goes dark automatically. I already know about the Autolock setting in Settings. What I want is to be able to set up the phone with Autolock=Never for when the phone is unlocked, but I want the lock screen (the screen with the number pad to enter the passcode) and the screen with the clock to go dark automatically. Is there a way to set this up?
