Question: How to add my user EXS24 sample banks back to the EXS library?

I upgraded to High Sierra and all my user EXS24 samples are not detected anymore by Logic.

I located them, but I cannot seem to find the new(?) location of the default EXS24 sample banks.

Logic Pro X, OS X Mavericks (10.9.1)

You may have run into this behavior due to the latest file system change.

Did you use to have Logic Pro 9 installed on this computer/system?

Try this if you recognize that your Audio Music Apps folder is an orphaned alias:

  1. Quit Logic Pro X.
  2. Delete the Alias ~/Music/Audio Music Apps then create a new folder on this location and give it the name Audio Music Apps.
  3. Open the Terminal and paste this code followed by enter:
    open /.HFS+\ Private\ Directory\ Data?/

    - A new Finder window will reveal your hidden content.
  4. Copy the content inside the 'dir_######' folder and paste it inside your new Audio Music Apps folder.
  5. Relaunch Logic Pro X.

Don't know where the default and custom samples are based and I noticed that I could not detect the new location of the default exs24 sample sets so perhaps spotlight needs more time to index. I installed high sierra yesterday...

And where are the samples themselves? No idea.

Big issue since I earn my living as a composer using my user banks that I built over decades.

Thanks!

Bravo Cuauhtemoc, thanks to your suggestions I was able to restore my entire custom EXS24 library! I did exactly what you told and it just took my Macpro a day to index my huge 20 T drive.

Sorry it does work. I was doing it on my new mac after migrating from my old Air.

I tried it on the Air and it worked.

I copied the files to my new machine and now have my samples back

Thanks
