This feature is not working and i only noticed it stopping to work after installing MacOS High Sierra.
Can anyone tell me how to solve the problem?! Thanks a lot in advance!

Try toggling the preference off and on and see if it works. Also try changing the modifier key. You may have some conflict with another application and the command key. If that doesn't work you should try starting up in safe mode or from a new User account to rule out conflicts.
I`ve already tried everything. Restarting computer. (I have 2 users with the same machine and i thought maybe that was the problem since both accounts were open. But nothing.... Without shortcuts my Mac is barely better than a Windows machine 😟 so annoying...
I think it was a small bug related with having more than one user account opened at the same time.
My father uses the computer sometimes and every time he doesnt Log Out from his session i end up having the same issue. I really really miss the time when OSx was stable. It makes a lot of sense they changed the name to Mac OS, it really reminds me the time of Macs before Steve Jobs.
It`s still better than any other OS out there though.

This is the only issue I have - same problem.
It starts working and then stops. Changing modifier doesn't help.
