Question: How do you turn off background apps when home button not working?

I've just upgraded my iPhone 6 to the 11.1.1 and not only has the finger recognition gone but my home button stopped working. I've turned on assistive touch to resolve for now, but how do you turn off any background apps that run? My batteries suffering & its only day 1!

then as Tim suggests have you device evaluated by Apple if their is problem with functionality and the phone is a day old.

Your battery is probably suffering because something more significant than a non-functioning home button is wrong with your phone.

Make an appointment at the genius bar of your local Apple Store. They will explain your options.

Go to:


Settings > General > Background App Refresh


and turn Background App Refresh off. Also consider using the low power mode. See the last paragraph of:
