iOS 11 - want blank empty home screen

I like having my primary iPad home screen showing only my wallpaper. Prior to iOS 11 this could be done either via the iPad or via iTunes.

However I cannot seem to do this now. iTunes 12.whatever no longer allows managing Apps and if I move all App icons off the first home page then that empty page seems to go away.

Does anyone know how to create an empty home page and retain it?

If this has been lost I suppose I'll create a home page with only one App or Folder icon...

thanks

Hi. I don't believe it is possible to have a blank Home screen in iOS 11. Also, you will always have the Dock at the bottom, though I've seen some suggestions for making it disappear.

Have you considered alternatively pulling down the Notifications page, and leaving it on the screen when not interacting with the icons. Just swipe down from the top.
