Question: guest logon on starting screen disappeared in high Sierra

On the starting screen, the possibility for a guest to log on has disappeared in High Sierra

iMac, iOS 10.1

then, when I remove my wife account, the guest account stays visible.

Had same issue on a Sierra 10.12.6 upgrade to HS 10.13.1. Could not find working solution. Except to Erase HD ( spinner HD) and reinstall from USB bootable installation stick of 10.13.1.

If it's visible in Users & Groups can you unlock the lock, choose it and checkmark "Allow users to login.." If not can you delete it and create a new Guest User?
